A young woman in the Alnwick area is looking for a committed enabler to provide support to access the local community and remain independent at home.  

The woman has a diagnosis of learning disabilities including autism and would prefer somebody with experience of supporting others with a similar diagnosis. She has a good sense of humour is sociable with people she has formed a relationship with.

Her interests include visiting the theatre, shopping, meals out, family history, socialising with friends, gardening – visiting the local community allotment and holidays in the sun

The preferred enabler will be:

·        A driver with access to their own vehicle (mileage will be paid) ESSENTIAL
·        Friendly
·        Outgoing with a good sense of humour 
·        Be reliable 
·        Willing to engage in the clients' interests 
 
Main duties will include: 

·        Shopping and Meal preparation 
·        Promoting independence with household tasks 
·        Engaging in appropriate social activities outside of the client's home such as shopping, cinema trips, meals out. 

Expenses will be paid in agreement with the employer.
 
Rate of Pay: £12 per hour
Hours Breakdown:

·        Monday - 5pm to 7pm - collect from specific location, return home and prepare evening meal 
·        Tuesday – 11am to 1pm OR 3pm to 5pm -  to support client to attend/collect from local activity, access local community, food shopping or social activity 
·        Wednesday – 10am to 1pm – To support client at home and then to access a specific activity in the local community 
·        Friday – 8:30am to 9:30am – support client to prepare for day and accompany them to access transport to daily activity 
·        Alternate Saturday – Flexible hours to access social activities in line with the clients' interests

You will receive 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata per year as part of your employment
