I am based in Eggborough and am looking for a Personal Assistant (PA) to support my 17-year-old son in building confidence and independence around his interests and goals.
My son has diagnoses of Asperger’s Syndrome, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), and PTSD. Due to his complex needs, it is important to take time to get to know him well. He has a strong ability to mask his difficulties, so the ability to read behaviour carefully and sensitively is essential.
The role involves becoming part of a small, supportive team focused on rebuilding my son’s confidence and helping him engage more fully with the world around him. Initially, support will take place within our family home, allowing you to build a positive and trusting relationship with my son, his siblings, and our family cat.
As confidence grows, the role will develop to include supporting my son to access the community, explore his interests, and enjoy activities outside the home. Most importantly, this role is about having fun, encouraging independence, and providing calm, consistent support.
Support is primarily required on either a Saturday or Sunday.
