I am looking to employ a small team of Personal Care Assistants to cover regular shifts each week. I can present challenging behaviour and require a support team of 3-4 PAs, at home.
The successful applicant will need to be reliable, organised, and have a flexible approach to work. My carers should work together, alongside the appointed Team Leader, and be open to covering one another during sickness and holidays, as required.
Total hours required for the team to work is 94.50hrs.
Daily - Mon-Fri plus weekends - 06:30 to 20:00.
FTE £17,280.00 is based on 30hrs per week. Negotiable.
As a Personal Care Assistant your job will be to provide personal care to my husband, with:
- Toileting
- Showering
- Dressing
- Support into a wheelchair
- And meals.
No formal qualifications are needed, however, previous experience in care, as well as knowledge of supporting people with a brain injury and mental health decline, is essential. There will be an opportunity to take up appropriate training - e.g. in mobility handling etc, to help you fully in your role. Please note that due to COVID19, some training may be on line.
I am looking for someone to be a part of my care team, someone who caring, friendly, patient and who can understand and deliver the needs required. You must be able to respect my privacy, maintain a professional attitude at all times and understand my meticulous approach to daily routine. I am looking for physical support, as required, as opposed to an informal relationship.
You must be able to handle the physical skills of lifting, pushing and bending. You do not have to be physically strong to do this but it does help, as does good general health.
When you apply for this position please specify days and hours that you are available to work. Start time is non-negotiable, finish time can be flexible.
The position will be paid an average of £9.00 per hour and will be paid through the PAYE scheme. This is not a cash in hand position. As mentioned above, the number of hours per PA will be decided based on availability and skills match.
Proof of ID, two references and a full DBS check will be required, before anyone is hired. There may be a trial period of 2 weeks (TBD) while the team settles.
