Befriender/Care Assistant to support a man who lives in Crook County Durham £13 per hour - Crook - DL15

Befriender/Care Assistant required to support a 27 year old man with autism and learning disabilities who lives in Crook, County Durham.

We are looking for someone to support this gentleman, who is independent but requires support outside of the house, for trips into the community to various activities such as cinema, shopping, swimming etc.

Hours/Wage:

14 hours per week £13 per hour

Ideally this would be 2 days per week (Tuesday and Thursday), and 7 hours per day (10am - 5pm) but there is flexibility in this and days/time can be discussed at interview.

Duties:

Your main duty will be to accompany the person on trips into the communityand to provide support where necessary.

He enjoys cinema, shopping, swimming,visiting museums,bowling, trampolining.

Additional Information:

Experience of working with people with autism would be preferred but not essential.

Driver with own car would be an advantage but not essential as he has a bus pass and carers pass available.

An enhanced DBS will be required, employer will cover the cost.
