Job Purpose:
We are a warm, neurodivergent family seeking a kind, patient and creative PA to support a young child who is Autistic and Pathological Demand Avoidant (PDA). The role involves accompanying us on family outings alongside mum and siblings to provide an extra pair of hands, as well as supporting him at home when mum is out with other children.

He is a bright and curious boy, and has a wide range of interests including Minecraft, history, crafts, the beach, cats, climbing and swimming. He needs someone who can engage with his passions, keep him safe, and model activities using declarative language (talking through what you’re doing) to help him join in.

We are looking for someone with the right attitude, curiosity, patience and willingness to learn, who can build a trusting relationship with him over time.

Details:
Accompany the family on outings to provide additional adult support
Engage him in activities he enjoys (Minecaft, crafts, cats, swimming, climbing, history etc)
Keep him safe both at home and during outings

Summary terms and conditions:
The rate of pay for this position is £13 per hour
You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role
Hours and days of work: one day a week, during the school holidays
The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
Should this job role include any of the following duties: food preparation, moving & handling, chemical handling (general household cleaning products) or the handling of medication, you will be required to undertake mandatory training. 
 
The post is subject to the following:
A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
