Autism & ADHD Support Specialist for young adult P/T@ £14.67/hr in Hexham - FTE - £28.6k - Hexham - NE46

Job Reference (902604cb)

I am an 18 year old young man living in Hexham, and I am looking for a fun, supportive enabler to help me get out and about and build my independence.
I split my time between my mum’s house and my dad’s house, and I’m looking for support every other weekend, ideally on a Sunday for around 5 to 10 hours.

A bit about me. I have lots of interests and love keeping busy. I enjoy singing, and I am a big F1 fan, especially Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. I also really like travelling on buses and trains, being outside whatever the weather, and going swimming. I am happiest in quieter, calmer environments and love having a laugh, telling jokes and making the most of every day.

I am a friendly, chatty and sociable young man, and I am looking for someone who can support me in a relaxed and positive way. It is important that my enabler is male, as I need support with personal care.
I would love someone who can help me get out and enjoy activities in the community, travel using public transport, and have fun while building my confidence and independence. I would also need support to stay safe when I am out and about, keep to my routines as these are very important to me, get drinks and snacks when I need them, and take medication if I am unwell.

Being able to drive would be helpful but is not essential, as I enjoy using buses and trains.
This role would suit someone who is easy going, patient and enjoys having fun while supporting independence.

A full enhanced DBS check for the adult workforce will be required, which will be paid for by the employer. Training will be provided through a mix of online learning, on the job support and in person sessions where needed.

If you are someone who enjoys making a real difference and having a good laugh along the way, I would love to hear from you.
