I require a PA to support a friendly young lady who has locked in syndrome following a stroke.
All PA’s will get extensive training and full support from the supervisor and other team members.
Hours available - 8.30pm - 9.30am 13 hour waking night shifts
I communicate through a communication aid and an intense physio regime keeps me and my team busy throughout the week. To ensure I am living my life as independently as possible my PA’s daily tasks include, some quiet household duties, ensure i am safe throughout the night.
You will be fully trained in administering medication, moving and handling and how to support me in my everyday life.
Maintain a clean and healthy living environment and support with some household duties
Support me to remain independent in my own home
Support with all personal care needs.
Personal Assistants will be directed by me and my partner at all times and will be accountable to me in all aspects of their work.
You must always ask what I require and not make assumptions about any aspect of the assistance I need or how it should be carried out.
Some duties may include:
Personal Care
Assist to access the shower daily
Assist to get dressed and get into bed
Continence management
Support to prepare / eat meals
Support me with mobility
Support me with medication and regular fluid intake
Domestic Tasks
Change and make the bed as required
Laundry and cleaning
Prepare and cook meals
Washing up
Any other reasonable request I may make
General
Support me to engage in various activities.
Support me to engage in my local community
Accompany me to leisure activities/recreation
Any other request that I may reasonably make

Essential Requirements
Be reliable and trustworthy.

Be able to use initiative
Able to handle the physical skills of lifting, pushing and bending (use of hoist) You don’t have to be particularly physically strong to do this, technique is as important as physical strength.
Undertake to attend any necessary training courses.
Be respectful at all times and maintain my dignity
You will need to be flexible both in attitude and with the working day
