We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide essential support to a client in the Stockton area. The ideal candidate should possess a clean driving licence, and have the right to work in the UK. Our client is a young person who is currently looking to expand on their interests and experience new things. They have mobility issues and would like support getting around. Currently our client doesn’t need assistance with personal care however their current health condition could change in the future leading to a different level of support. 
 Essential Criteria: 
 ● Driving Skills: A car driver with a clean driving licence is essential, as driving responsibilities are integral to the role. Ability to assist with mobility aid eg walker and an understanding of mobility issues. 
 ● Equality and diversity: It is extremely important to have an inclusive attitude of acceptance  and an open mind. 
 ● Knowledge: A good understanding of mental health issues, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergence, and disability is preferred.  Training can be provided to the right candidate. 
 ● Background Check: A clean enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check must be produced upon successful application. 
 ● Comfort with Cats: Candidates must be comfortable around cats, as there is a cat in the client's home. 
 ● Communication: Good verbal communication skills with an understanding of body language are crucial. An empowered approach to support focusing on strengths. A patient attitude to allow the client time to process their thoughts and feelings. 
 ● Confidentiality: A strong understanding of confidentiality is essential for this role. 
 ● Flexibility: Openness to travelling and willingness to undertake overnight work when necessary. 
 
 
 Desirable Attributes: 
 ● Calm and Caring Attuned Nature: A calm, patient, empathic, accepting and caring attitude is highly valued. 
 ● Collaborative and Self-Motivated: The ability to work collaboratively and be 
 self-motivated is advantageous. 
 ● Listening Skills: Strong listening skills are a must. 
 ● Responsiveness: Being responsive, capable of putting plans into action, and 
 following instructions is essential. It is important to allow the client their own autonomy. 
 ● Adaptability: Adapting to changing circumstances and managing changes well is 
 important. 
 ● Compassion: A compassionate and can-do caring attitude is highly desired. 
 ● Proactivity: Being proactive and dedicated to understanding the changing needs of 
 the client is key. 
 
 Personal Requirements: 
 As a Personal Assistant, your responsibilities will include: 
 ● Supporting the client in attending social groups and activities. 
 ● Making phone calls and sending emails as and when required on behalf of the client. 
 ● Providing support with grounding techniques and helping the client process 
 information. 
 ● Assisting with preparation for changes. 
 ● Offering some assistance with light housework and food preparation.
