Gentleman in Longhorsley area living with Agoraphobia and Social Anxiety requires an enabler/support worker to provide 7hrs per week.
Preferred days are Monday and Wednesday with a start time of 10 am, 3.5hrs each day but with some flexibility.
Experience preferred but not essential.
Car driver required
Hours of work: 7hrs per week
Rates of Pay: £10.82 per hour
Main Duties:
Enabling support required with establishing and maintaining domestic routines (including support with post / correspondence, support with doing essential shopping, accessing ATM, post office, and paying bills ;
Support with accessing local community with everything from attending GP appointments to visiting places of interest although this is a long-term goal due to agoraphobia. An interest in historical architecture would be a bonus.
Encouraging and supporting client to access recreational resources and getting "out and about" to provide social stimulation and change of environment
It’s hoped the successful candidate has an interest in music as client has a wide and varied music appreciation everything from Kate Bush to Nirvana to the more classical composers. Client also plays guitar.
Supporting and reassuring client around his social anxiety and agoraphobia whilst introducing him to the outside world at his own pace with a little prompting and encouragement.

Further Information: An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS) will have to be obtained for the successful candidate (at employer’s expense).
Training: Where it is required, such as in Health and Safety matters, practical training and guidance will be arranged and the care worker will be expected to attend.
