Job Purpose
To provide personal and social support for man allowing him to live at home

Job Details
My health condition means that I require support with all aspects of life in order to live at home and maintain some independence. My PA will support me with personal care, eating and drinking, as well as accessing the local community. I enjoy getting out to different places and have a keen interest in photography. I would like someone who works well with my needs but has the initiative to ensure everything is sorted. I would like us to be open and mutually trusting.
Required Characteristics
· Experience with personal care
· Reliable and flexible
· Full driving licence and own vehicle due to location
· Able to drive wheelchair accessible van
· Shared interests an advantage
Duties to include
· Assisting with medication
· Assisting with showering
· Assisting to put on clothes
· Support with toileting needs and using commode
· Meal preparation and assisting to cut meat etc.
· Household tasks (changing bedlinen, vacuuming, laundry)
· Ensuring equipment is working safely
· Assistance to access community and enjoy hobbies

Summary terms and conditions
· The rate of pay for this position is £15.00 per hour Daytime and £49.96 flat rate for nights
· Hours of work: Initially up to 17hrs weekly daytime plus up to 6 sleep-in nights on a flexible contract to be used ‘As and When’ to cover for existing employees leave etc.
· 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata paid leave, inclusive of bank holidays
· Free training as appropriate for role
The post is subject to the following:
· A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
· Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months
