Personal Care Assistant to a young boy with complex health issues in DH6 area 4 hrs pw - DURHAM - DH6

Personal Care Assistant required to provide support to a 5 year old boy with complex health issues, who lives in the Pittington area of Durham.

4 hours per week @ £9.50 per hour

Hours are flexible and can be discussed at interview, however care will take place out of school hours so is likely to be afternoons/evenings or weekends.

The family  are looking for someone to provide support to their 5 year old son to help him to access the community, increase his social skills and promote his independence.

The successful candidate will be required to have PEG feeding training, this can be arranged by the employer following appointment.

Ideally you will have had life support training. You should also have experience of working with someone with autism and be able to de-escalate any potential meltdowns creatively.

Your duties would include taking the boy into the community.  He enjoys going to the local park, walking and spending time in the family hot tub, and you would be supporting him with this as well as encouraging his practical skills and promoting his independence.

 
You will need to have a driving licence, however it is likely that you would be driving the family car so would not need to use your own car.

An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment can commence.
