 Job Purpose: Social care opportunity has become available to work as a personal assistant for a disabled lady with physical and mental health issues in the Weeting area. You would be asked to cover any holidays and sickness, and to assist the current personal assistant with day-to-day tasks. 

The lady’s conditions have rapidly declined, leaving her very vulnerable.  

Location: Weeting, IP27
 
Details:  
- Meal preparation – Cooking and encouragement to eat.

- Support in maintaining good personal hygiene

- Support in the community – Food shopping, attend medical appointments, collecting prescriptions, and visiting family and friends.

- Motivational support – Promoting positive mental health & Wellbeing

- Social support – Lady suffers with social anxiety. Support is required in all aspects of socialisation. 

- Admin support- Read, explain, and manage emails, post, and bills 

- Medication support –Check if medication has been taken and to prompt/administer where necessary.

- Domestic care – light housework, laundry, bed change, ensuring pathways are clear due to her condition making her unbalanced.

- Experience in physical and mental health would be desirable but not essential

 
Summary terms and conditions: 

· The rate of pay for this position is £12.38 per hour for employed and £14.94 per hour for self-employed.

· Hours and times of work: Up to 25 hours per week 9am-1pm and 1 hour on Sunday. Hours will fluctuate due to holiday and sickness cover. Hours can be flexible.

Other duties will be discussed if/when deemed appropriate but everything that will be expected will be explained prior to acceptance of the position. 

- The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks. 
 
- Access to free training for employed workers.  
 
- If this job requires; Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals and/or Food Handling you will be required undertake annual training. 
 

 The post is subject to the following:  

· A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.  

· Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.  

· Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
