We are looking for kind, patient, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Personal Assistants (PAs) to support our amazing 30-year-old daughter, Laurie. Laurie is a full-time wheelchair user who thrives on meaningful connections, engaging activities, and a person-cantered approach to care.
This is a part-time role, with flexible shift options and opportunities for additional hours, including weekends.

What You’ll Be Doing
As Laurie’s Personal Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in her daily life by:
Providing respectful personal care, supporting her with hygiene, dressing, and daily routines
Encouraging independence, helping Laurie make choices and take part in activities she enjoys
Supporting her mobility, including safe moving and handling, guided by her physiotherapy plan
Enhancing communication, using a total communication approach (objects of reference, Makaton, body language, facial expressions, tone of voice, posture, and Widget symbols)
Following specialist guidance from Speech and Language Therapists (SLT), Physiotherapists, and other professionals to ensure the best support
Bringing fun and companionship, whether at home or at the Arts & Crafts Centre
Creating a calm, safe environment, recognising and responding to Laurie’s cues and sensory needs
