Personal Assistant needed for 8 year old boy in LS12 @ £11.30 - Leeds - LS12

K. is a friendly 8-year-old boy with Down Syndrome, K. is unable to walk so therefore uses a manual wheelchair and is unable to talk, K. is peg fed due to a unsafe swallow and has a medical background of Heart surgery and is asthmatic. 

 

Support K. by taking him out into the community to enjoy activities and try new activities to broaden his experiences. 

If K. is out with yourself during feeding times you will be required to feed him (training given if needed). 

Keep in touch with mum and dad during visit to update how things are going, what K.’s done, what he’s enjoyed etc. 

Change his pad when needed. 

 

K. is entitled to 4 hours a week of PA during term time and 6 hours during the school holidays. 

I would like these hours to be used on a weekend or after school during term time which would require K. being picked up from school. 

These hours don't have to be set in stone and we can alternate change them to suit us both. 

Car is essential and ideally living close by. 

 

Extra information  

I communicate by making noises and sounds to show my emotions if I'm happy upset sad etc. 

I'm if become to overwhelmed or stressed I can become a bit nippy or try and bite this is me trying to relieve my frustration and I will need a few minutes to just calm down or be taken away from the situation causing my upset. 

I like messy and sensory play I really enjoy the park farm and going on walks.
