Job description: Social care work opportunity for a Personal Assistant. Listed below are details of the job and what tasks are involved. It is essential to refer to these when submitting an application and advise of the days/hours you are available.

Job purpose: Support a young man to access the local community for days out and activities. 
  
 Location:  King's Lynn, PE30
 
 Details:
Accompany an 18 year old to access the local community for days out, so he can get involved with activities he enjoys such as; bus rides into King's Lynn town centre, walk around parks, seaside trips (weather permitting) bowling, cinema, and MENCAP activities. 

The young man likes to be called 'Cedric' he has high levels of anxiety, autism, and learning disabilities. If Cedric gets upset and distressed due to certain noises he does not like, time needs to be taken to calm himself down, and be taken out of the situation. 

Communication with Cedric needs to be in a simplistic manner for him to understand, and is perceptive of peoples emotions which will reflect on his mood.

 Person Specification
Listed below are the skills, competencies and qualities that are essential and desirable for the post. Assessment of these, both on application and at the interview, will be the main factor in determining your success.

Essential:
-  Have solid years of experience dealing with people with special needs, who are similar to Cedric.
- Knowledge of how to manage people with learning disabilities. 
- Have enthusiasm and patience in dealing with people with special needs.
- Reliable
- Approachable
- Friendly

Desirable:
- First aid trained
- Full UK Driving licence
- Use of own car for work purposes
