Job Description:  Social care work opportunity for a Personal Assistant. Listed below are details of the job and what tasks are involved. It is advisable to refer to these when submitting your application and advise of the days/hours you are available.
 
Job Purpose: We are twin sisters aged 6 years old. We would like a Personal Assistant to come to our house and support us with activities and play. We both have a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy and global developmental delay. We are unable to walk independently and are currently in nappies. We have good upper body control and communication skills. 
 
We love arts and crafts, Lego and reading books. We also really enjoy role play such as doctors and dentists.
 
Location: King’s Lynn
 
Details: 
·         Supporting us with activities and play within our house.
·         Support with walking and toilet training.
 
Personal Specification: Listed below are the skills, competencies and qualities that are essential and desirable for the post. Assessment of these, both on application and at the interview, will be the main factor in determining your success.
 
Essential: 
·         Experience of working with children in a similar role.
·         Friendly, fun and caring.
·         Energetic and enthusiastic.
·         First aid trained.
·         Flexible and able to work weekends and school holidays.
·         Reliable, punctual and able to work on own initiative.
·         Confident with personal care. 
 
Desirable: 
·         Qualifications relevant to the position.
 
Summary Terms and Conditions
·         The rate of pay for this position is £12.50 per hour.
·         Hours and times of work as follows: 4 hours fortnightly plus additional hours during the school holidays or to provide extra support when required (days and times to be discussed at interview).
·         The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
·         Access to free Care Skills training for employer workers.
·         If this job requires; Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals and/or Food Handling you will be required undertake annual training.
·         You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role. 
 
The post is subject to the following:
·         A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
·         Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
·         Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 6 months.
