Job Purpose:
I am a friendly lady, with physical disabilities, who is seeking a compassionate and reliable night-time carer to support me in my home, for 2 nights per week. This role will include support with my nightly bedtime routine, repositioning throughout the night, and household tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment.
The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude and a good sense of humour, with a willingness to learn.
Female PA required due to personal care.
Location: Thetford
Details:
- Personal care: assisting with bathing and getting ready for bed.
- Safe transfers using a ceiling hoist.
- Turning and repositioning during the night for comfort and care.
- Household tasks such as washing up, laundry, ironing, and mopping floors (performed at night to ensure safety on wet floors).
- Making drinks and occasional food preparation.
- Medication Practice: administrating liquid medication.
- Occasional morning assistance for early appointments.

- The rate of pay for this position is: £13 per hour (waking night) and £11.68 per hour for any additional day time hours.
- Hours and days of work:
- Two week rolling rota. Week 1: Wednesday & Thursday. Week 2: Saturday and Sunday.
- Additional hours available for holiday and sickness cover.
- Potential for more permanent hours in the future.
- The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks (calculated based on annual hours worked).
- Free Care Skills training for all staff.
- If this job requires any of the following: Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals (e.g. household cleaning products), Food handling. You will be required to undertake annual training.
The post is subject to the following:
- A satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
- Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
- Completion of a satisfactory probationary period.
