Personal Assistant for disabled activist/academic £13/hour, Vauxhall - London - SE11

Job Reference (2ec0d476)

I am looking for assistants (over 18). I’m an activist and have severe cerebral palsy. I don’t need you to have any specific training or experience with disabled people before – I can teach you everything but there will be a lot of transcription of my work and this is only possible if you are able to write fluently. I am unable to interview anyone who is not confident with writing in English. I don't need any particular background but I do need someone empathetic, kind, openminded and reliable. There are generally three areas where I need help.

1. Academic transcription.

2. Helping me with my personal care including hygiene and food. This is not particularly complicated.

3. You may also have to keep my flat relatively tidy.

I cannot offer any remote work, you must be able to help with physical tasks and personal care as I can need the toilet at any time. £13 an hour, generally one or two 9-5 shifts and possibly two 5-9 shifts a week. Happy to either offer regular work or decide the week before. Based in Vauxhall, SE11. Generally, some shifts will be pretty regular and some others will be cover/shorter notice. Flexibility is appreciated.

You must have the right to work in the UK.
