Job Purpose:
I am an outgoing elderly lady with a diagnosis of dementia; however, I still enjoy being sociable and going out into the community. I love music, dancing, chatting and playing games. In my home there is a large garden and garden room where I like to spend time, but equally I like going to parks and visiting cafes.
I would like to employ a Personal Assistant to support me with day-to-day activities. This would include personal care, washing and dressing. Support with taking medication. Domestic duties such as cleaning (including bathroom and commode), laundry and general housework to help and keep my home tidy. I will also need support with food preparation and cooking. Support when out and about in the community and assisting me with remaining as independent as possible.

Essential:
Hygiene aware, (cleaning of bathroom and commode as well as general housework.)
Flexible.
Good sense of humour and cheerful disposition.
Experience of supporting someone with or understanding of dementia.
Careful and observant.
Prepared to play games and chat.
Like music and dancing.
Desirable:
Car owner with the appropriate business insurance.
Summary terms and conditions:
· The rate of pay for this position is £12.38 per hour.
· Hours and times of work: 25 hours per week. 07:30 – 09:30 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 09:30 – 17:00 Thursday (30 mins lunch), and 19:30-21:30 Monday to Thursday.
· The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
· This position requires the employee to complete the following free annual training: GDPR, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH, Personal Care and Medication Practice.
Post is subject to the following:
· A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
· Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
· Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
