We are looking for a kind, reliable and enthusiastic Personal Assistant to support a 10‑year‑old boy who lives with his family plus one cat and dog in the Gaywood area. He is a friendly young boy who benefits from support from someone patient, engaging and willing to build a positive, trusting relationship with him.
Location: Gaywood, PE30
Details: The role involves providing support both at home and out in the community. Typical activities include:
- Trips to the park and the local train station
- Food preparation
- Personal care
- Join in with activities he enjoys, including active play (e.g., trampoline time)
- Act as a companion and supportive presence
- Encourage confidence and interaction during activities
Personal Specification: Listed below are the skills, competencies and qualities that are essential and desirable for the post. Assessment of these, both on application and at the interview, will be the main factor in determining your success.
Essential:
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
- Good communication skills
- Ability to engage positively in activities and build rapport

Summary Terms and Conditions
- The rate of pay for this position is £12.38 per hour
- Hours and times of work as follows:
Term-time: 3 hours per week, after school, one day per week
School holidays: Additional hours will be available. These can be used flexibly—either as daytime sessions or occasional evening support.
- The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
- Access to free Care Skills training for employed workers.

- A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
- Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 6 months.
