Communicator Guide will support client with developed hearing and sight loss – known as acquired Deafblindness. Communicator Guide will offer 1:1 support in clients home and in the community, supporting her to do things she wants to do, not to do things for her. Communicator Guide takes direction from client rather than making decisions for her.

This role would involve supporting client to access recreational activities, shopping, sometimes appointments, etc. Family members may accompany community activities.

Applicants must be able to drive and provide their own car for travel. Expenses/ mileage will be paid.
Applicants must be able to push a wheelchair and fit a wheelchair in car boot.
Be the eyes and ears of the client, describing environment and sometimes assisting with communication in loud environments, when she is engaged in any activity.
Push her in wheelchair when needed.
Take notes for her when needed.
Shopping, as needed

flexibility to work additional hours to cover holiday and sick leave for full time communicator would be preferred
