Care Assistant for a young person P/T@ £13.09/hr in Ashington - FTE - £25.5k - Ashington - NE63

We are looking to recruit a Personal Assistant in Ashington to provide support to a client who is severely sight impaired. The support required is to assist with accessing the community and to include support with a small child.

The support required is:

4.5 hours per week, to support with shopping twice a week – about 1 hour per session and 2.5 hours in the community to support with a young child to access activities, for example soft play and community groups, hours to be arranged flexibly with employer.

Main Duties:
·        To support out and about in the community to assist with shopping.
·        To include supporting a young child when out and about with assistance with road crossing etc.
·        To assist and attend activities in which the young child can participate in and develop with other children of a similar age, but also to increase the confidence of the parent.
·        To assist with all safety aspects of being with a young child when out in the local community and to understand the potential hazards with minimal sight.

Rates of Pay: £13.09 per hour

Further Information:  An Enhanced Adults and Childrens Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS) will be obtained for the successful candidate, cost to be met by Northumberland County Council.
