Direct payment/ personal assistant role for a 15 year old young lady to provide her with support at home as well as opportunities in the community and support her to develop some independence from family. She has a diagnosis of Choreoathetoid Cerebral Palsy, and uses a wheelchair to get around.

Being able to develop a positive relationship with the young lady is more important than experience as everything can be taught once the relationship has developed. Initially you would be working alongside mum in the home and community.

Personal care would be required once you have got to know each other as you would eventually be spending time together without mum.

Direct payments:

7 hours term time to be used after school for activities and evening routine

15 hours during school holidays opportunity to have 2 full days out with a PA doing activities of her choice. There would be a few hours left to support in the home with morning or evening routines.

Can be flexible in terms of days for the right person.

Example week in term time

Wednesday: 3:30-7pm

Thursday: 3:30-7pm

Example week in school holidays

Wednesday: 9am-3pm

Thursday: 9am-3pm

Sunday: 4pm-7pm

Rate of pay: £10.93 per hour
