A back up PA to a young boy with Joubert’s Syndrome in LS8 to cover holidays of main staff - LEEDS - LS8

I am looking to recruit a back up PA for my son Archie who has  Joubert’s Syndrome. You will be required to provide cover for holidays and sickness for my other staff, so it will be as and when required basis.  It will be paid at £11.20 an hour (gross).  My son is a friendly, happy young person . He is non-verbal and communicates with some Makaton and has a personal communication device (using TouchChat). He uses a wheelchair and walking frame as required; his mobility is limited but improving. He requires personal care to change pads, to get dressed and transfer to and/from his mobility aids. Manual Handling safety awareness would be advantageous. Experience of working with children with SEN – possibly including autistic characteristics is essential. Knowledge of Makaton is desired although not essential.
Although diagnosed with Joubert’s Syndrome, which can present other physical health problems, my son is currently in good health, but some precautions are necessary including thickening drinks. He has an older brother with Williams Syndrome who will also have a PA. You would be assisting me to provide personal care and allow my son to access activities independently of his sibling, or so that his sibling can pursue his own interests with me, when his own PA is unavailable.
