3 x Personal Care Assistants for a young boy P/T@ £16.41/hr in Cramlington - Cramlington - NE23

To provide support for a 3-year-old little boy who has problems with his Gastrointestinal System and requires Total Parenteral Nutrition via a Central Line.  

Main Duties  We are currently looking to recruit three experienced Personal Assistants to provide specialist support for a child who is 3 years of age with complex health care needs.

Full training will be provided for healthcare tasks. 
Please note that all personal care for this little boy will also be required, including bathing.

Role Responsibilities
·       You should have the confidence to care for a child with complex needs, supporting parents with his daily care needs.
·       Experience of caring for a child with complex needs would be an advantage, however training will also be provided.
·       To liaise with parents immediately regarding any concerns around the child’s daily care and wellbeing.
·       To prepare/clean equipment/feed/medication as directed by his parents.
·       To provide personal care.
·       To play and engage with this little boy with age-appropriate activities.
·       Do not leave the child unattended to always ensure his safety. 

Person Specification  
In additional to the above, successful applicants must:  
·       have experience of working with children who have complex needs
·       have a high degree of initiative
·       have a positive understanding and genuine interest in supporting children within their home and communities
·       be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised
·       be flexible
·       have a happy, positive and caring nature
·       respect confidentiality 
 
Hours:  6.5 hours per week per assistant, to be used predominantly Monday to Friday (no weekends) specific times available will be discussed with interested applicants.  

Rate of Pay  £16.41 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata. Any out-of-pocket expenses will be met by the employer and will be discussed at interview. Additional Benefit Scheme will also be discussed at interview and applies on completion of probation period. 

Car driver essential and must have business insurance.  You will be required to pass background checks by the Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), cost to be met by the employer.
