I am looking for somebody to be a companion and superviser to Zoe, my 11 year old daughter.
Zoe is a very friendly, sociable young girl. She loves talking to people, animals, being outside and playing imaginative games with her barbies and soft toys.
The right candidate would enjoy spending time outside, chatting and playing make believe games. The ideal candidate will need to be mature in nature, and have experience of Autism and behavioural issues. You will also need to have a calm but firm manner, patience, a good sense of humour and lots of energy.
The candidate will initially be accompanied by myself, and work towards lone working and providing companionship to access the community and encourage engagement in social activities such as play parks, shops, cafes and the general outdoors.
Zoe can be impulsive and requires somebody that is able to put a boundary in when needed, they must also be physically fit enough to keep pace with her and steady on their feet.
Zoe needs supervision around road safety, contact with strangers and dogs.
Having access to a car is essential to this post. PA will also need to have a full, clean UK driving license.
Up to 4 hours per week on Saturday afternoons or Sundays, including school holidays.
Personal Qualities and Attributes Required
- Experience of working with children and/or disabled people (this can be lived experience as well as paid experience)
- Able to set boundaries
- Enjoy being outside
- Able to communicate clearly
- Prompting to go to the toilet
- Some assistance with menstruation
