We are looking to recruit a team of Female Personal Care Assistants who support a lady who has a Spinal Cord Injury (Tetraplegia) and has complex health needs including tracheostomy care. The lady lives in her home in Burnley, Lancashire.
The role is to provide clinical and personal care, emotional and social support, health monitoring with relevant responses, maintaining personal safety and administering medications. The training required in the clinical interventions to do the job will be provided. NB this list is not exhaustive.
You will work independently as a member of an experienced and competent team. You will receive full support during induction from the employer and her team, during which you will receive full training in all aspects of clinical and other duties.
You will work in the employer’s home, where everyone works well together. Support is primarily provided within the home, which is adapted.
The Right Person It is not essential that you have experience in care and support, but essential attributes include empathy, enthusiasm, a calm approach, willingness to learn and adapt, reliability and flexibility in a changing situation. Respect for the employer's space and privacy is essential. All staff must be able to drive.
The Hours The available hours are 8am to 8pm Saturday and Sunday at £10.50 per hour.
You will receive 5.6 weeks paid leave.
The successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check and clearance which will be paid for by the employer.
The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to cover extra shifts across the 7 days to support as needed to cover for sickness and holidays.
