The Job: This position is to provide care and support to a young man with complex health and care needs in his own home environment.
This young man is 24 and lives at home in his family home, he has complex disabilities. He is non verbal, non mobile and uses a wheelchair to access the community and engage in social activities. He relies on his staff for all of his care needs including personal care. He enjoys interaction with his team.
The right person: This post would suit someone who is outgoing with a bubbly personality who is reliable, punctual, flexible and able to work as part of a team. Successful candidates need to be qualified drivers to support this young man to access the community in his wheelchair adapted vehicle. All employees must be over 21 for insurance purposes.
Previous complex care experience including peg feeding and epilepsy would be desirable, but not essential as full bespoke training will be given to the right candidates.
The hours available: There are two post available: 36 hrs and 24 hrs. (8am-8pm or 8pm-8am) Applicants must be flexible to work both days and waking nights on a rota basis.
The rate of pay: £10.50 per hour Monday to Friday days. £11.00 per hour Monday to Thursday nights. £11.25 per hours Saturdays day and night. £11.75 per hour Sunday day and night. £75.00 per sleep in 11:00pm – 7:00 am £15.00 per hour Bank Holidays (not shadow shift) £9.00 per hour for training.
Other considerations: Successful applicants must be eligible to work in the UK. A DBS check will be completed once appointed, the cost will be met by the employer.
