Personal Care Assistant required to support lady at home in Stoke ST2-£300/wk (FTE £20.8k) - STOKE-ON-TRENT - ST2

Job Description

We are looking for Personal Assistants (PAs) to work with a lovely lady with clinical and medical conditions who lives independently at home with her husband in Stoke-on-Trent Staffordshire.

The support you will provide will be varied:

  • Sometimes the day will be about good conversation, and spending time at home
  • Other days will be about getting out and about locally, to enjoy social activities or appointments
  • Every day is about giving caring, friendly support to this lady

Duties:

  • To go out with the client each day to visit different places
  • To drive and use the individual's own car that is adapted for her electric wheelchair
  • To provide personal care on occasion
    •  Supporting to shower and dress
  • To assist with emptying her catheter
  • Changing incontinence products 
  • Managing & supporting with her seizures 
  • Getting to know her well to be able to spot the signs if needing more support with her mental health 

Pay & benefits:

  • £10 /hour  
  • Company pension and holiday pay
  • 25 contracted hours per week
  • To work flexibly between 10am to 4pm Monday to Sunday 
  • Training provided
  • DBS paid for by the company 


The Hours: 

  • Work patterns are well planned in advance
  • There are part-time hours available
  • You will work as part of a small team 
  • Should be willing to pick up additional hours 
  • Should be flexible to cover holidays and times of sickness

Must haves:

  • You must be qualified to drive - and be able to drive a mobility vehicle
  • Empathy, common sense, flexible, enthusiastic & willing to learn
  • A naturally friendly and caring nature

Nice to have:

  • Experience in mental health and epilepsy
  • Some experience in care (though full training will be provided)

Other:

  • Successful applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
  • This post is subject to DBS checks, the cost of which will be met by your employer.
