I am looking to recruit a Direct Payment Personal Assistant for my 9-year-old son.
Hours wanted:
4 hours per week, all year round.
I would like this person to go out with his PA on a Sunday. Hours to be confirmed.
More about the young person:
This person is a delightful young man, who likes to be active. He has a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD and uses single words to communicate and can display echolalia. He uses a now and next schedule in school.
He enjoys activities involving animals, going to local activity centres, or the local park.
He needs to be hand held always. He doesn't understand dangers so cannot cross road by himself. He needs instructions to be given in simple sentences. He may respond to questions but may not be relevant to the situation. At times he responds logically. He can say what he needs or what he does not need. He needs assistance with toilet needs. He likes finger foods. We prefer our son not to have frizzy drinks even though he will ask for it. These drinks makes him hyperactive. He is ok with staff at school but as new person is introduced to him, may find this hard to adapt.
Experience needed:
This person needs someone who has experience working with children who have Autism and ADHD.
Hourly rate:
£12.55 for employed PA's
£16.47 for self-employed PA's.
