I am looking for a Personal Assistant (PA) for my 6-year-old daughter, who has autism.
The main role is to engage her in enjoyable and meaningful indoor and outdoor activities. This may include trips to amusement parks, the seaside, nature walks, playgrounds, sensory activities, or other community-based outings that match her interests.
My daughter is very active, enjoys exploring the outdoors, and loves sensory play. I am looking for someone who is enthusiastic, proactive, patient, and positive, and who can encourage her development through fun and engaging activities.
The role is flexible, and I am happy to consider applicants with different availability, provided they are available outside of school hours.
Person specification
Essential:
· Caring and empathetic
· Flexible
· Female carer due to the personal care element (Schedule 9, P1 of the Equality Act 2010 applies.)
· A good sense of humour
· Active
Desirable:
· Experience with supporting someone with Autism and Developmental Delay
Summary terms and conditions:
· The rate of pay for this position is £12.38 per hour
· Required hours: Minimum of 3 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours.
· Schedule: Flexible. After-school hours and/or weekends. Exact days and times will be advised in advance.
· The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
· This position requires the employee to complete the following free annual training: GDPR, Health and Safety.
Post is subject to the following:
· A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
· Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer. Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
