Job Purpose:
To provide support for a positive and independent man who is a wheelchair user.
I’m a 34-year-old man living with Friedreich’s Ataxia, which affects my balance, coordination, and muscle control (similar to MS). I value kindness, empathy, and a person-centred approach to care.
Although I try to do as much as I can for myself, I need support with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, domestic tasks, shopping, cooking, and engaging in activities.
I enjoy going to the gym, and I have a dog and a cat, so it’s important that my PA is an animal lover.
This role is offered on a job-share basis, and I am looking to recruit two PAs.
There are currently 26 hours available per week in total, plus additional holiday cover. This includes bedtime support at around 22:00, across 7 days a week.
There are also a further 12+ flexible hours available to be worked across the week, arranged to suit both parties.

Person specification:

- Full UK driving licence with appropriate class of business insurance preferable but not essential
Summary terms and conditions:
- The rate of pay for this position is £17.57 per hour
- Hours and times of work: 26 hours per week, offered on a job share basis (two PAs)
- evening support at around 10, 7 days a week)
- 12+ hours to be worked flexibly across the week

- You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.

The post is subject to the following:
- A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
- Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
