SW for 17 yo male with ASD and LD in-home after school care 4 afternoons per week - LEEDS - LS25

• Location is Garforth, LS25
• Work days and times are flexible, but generally must start at 3:30 pm. In the first instance,  4 afternoons per week.  Hours may differ in school holidays. 
• Our son is non-verbal with ASD and LD, using gestures and Makaton to communicate. Experience with working with special needs children and Makaton would be an advantage but is not a prerequisite. You should be patient, empathetic, a good listener, and resourceful.
• Responsibilities include:  supervising and assisting in after-school activities including making snacks / meals, directing and assisting him to get changed, suggesting in-home leisure activities, and generally keeping him safe.  
• Ideally you will have a current portable/online DBS check to speed up the employment process. If you don't have this, you are still welcome to apply but please note that in our experience checks take 6 - 8 weeks to complete before you can start work. 
• On-the-job training and familiarization will be provided by parents for the first few sessions.
