Specialist Support Worker/Personal Assistant, weekdays/evening plus Saturday 19 hours p.w - Bristol - BS4

Job Reference (2fad9a6c)

I’m a woman in my 30’s living with my 2 rats in Kingswood, Bristol I am looking to employ a Specialist Support Worker/Personal Assistant for 19 hours per week.  I will be moving to Filton during this year.

Specialist support worker/PA is required to work 5 days a week (Monday – Saturday). Saturday is non-negotiable, other work days to be discussed.   The shifts will vary between the hours of 10:00-20:00hrs with one evening per week working until 22:00hrs, to be agreed.

I am a complex hard working lady with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), Complex trauma, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), social Anxiety, Developmental trauma and Agoraphobia.

I have an interest in arts and crafts, and also enjoy taking part in creative and play activities. I wish to learn and expand my knowledge through online learning programs.  I have Christian beliefs and would like to work towards attending church in the future.

To be fit for this role, you would need to be understanding and patient. A person who is outgoing and willing to try different methods to help support me through my experiences. Someone who is willing to persevere and be resilient. I often get frustrated due to my inability to talk about certain things (not through lack of trying), so I may shout but I mean no harm – it's just the frustration boiling over or feeling unable to do communicate with the person. A person who is kind and gentle would be preferred, as well as someone who is perceptive and empathetic towards my thoughts and feelings. Move with me and explore.

The successful candidates main tasks will be to: support me with my emotional and mental wellbeing.  You will also support me with therapeutic interventions and tasks, with particular focus around association and developmental trauma.  You will be required to provide prompts for daily tasks such as personal care and support me to access the community and take part in activities.

I am a smoker, therefore I am happy for my PA to smoke.

I am fairly flexible about the weekdays/times that you will work, this will be discussed further upon interview.  Experience and Trauma training is essential.  Additional training in other areas will be given.

A clean driving licence and access to a car is desirable for some shifts but please do still apply if you do not drive as some shifts are more flexible.

The position will be paid at £9.38 per hour and will be paid through the PAYE scheme. Petrol Money will be paid for trips out.  This is not a cash in hand position.
