A man with Asperger’s Syndrome is looking to recruit an experienced Support Worker who is Autism informed and has experience of working with Asperger’s Syndrome. He finds communication challenging and at times may not speak. However he is also often articulate and regularly described as delightful and very caring.
Initially the position is for 4 hours a week and the actual hours of work can be agreed after successful interview.
There may be potential for more hours in the future if the placement is successful.
One hour per month will be for time and input from the Bristol Autism Support Service who will provide training, mentoring advice and support.
This is a ‘bespoke’ package as it requires a good skill set in order to manage the support well. It will therefore be paid at an enhanced rate of £15.76 per hour. This is due to the need for an experienced and resilient worker in order for the package of care to work and be sustained.
Holiday pay and pension available
Duties include: Support with maintaining a habitable home environment: arranging flat, helping to establish domestic routines.
Requirements
Previous experience working with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome is desirable
Clean manual driving license held for 2 years.
Good communication skills and ability to speak English fluently.
