Do you want to make a BIG difference to our family?
Are you someone who is competent, caring, and conscientious with a sense of humour who would like to work in a busy lively family home?
Then we might be just who you are looking for! We need people who are all of the above to support our six year old, be a kid and to explore the world.
Our son is stuck in a body that does not work. He can barely move. He cannot sit up, breathe, feed or move without support, but this doesn’t stop him!
A note from our son:
I love to be around other children, to watch Paw Patrol, to splash in a warm pool, paint with my hands and to be read stories. When I am feeling adventurous I like to ice skate (in my buggy), be bounced on a trampoline, feel reptiles and see the pigs at farm. I need someone to help me do these things. Can you?
Experience or previous training is not essential but a good positive, flexible attitude and willingness to learn and undertake training (will include tracheostomy, gastrostomy, medication and physio needs) is a must. The skills you will need to bring are fun, and a determination to support us to lead an ordinary family life so we can all - especially our son – play, stay safe, and be a part of the world. You must be willing to get in the pool and bounce gently on a big trampoline
