We are looking for a personal care assistant for our father, who is in his early 70s - primarily to aid with his meal preparation. The objective is to encourage and assist him with leading a healthy lifestyle - he can have the tendency to lean towards very tasty, but not always good-for-his-heart(!) , foods and drinks.

We would like the person applying to ideally love food and genuinely want to help him achieve this goal - our father understands the importance but doesn’t want the quality and taste of his food to suffer as a result of changes his doctor has advised. So for instance, not replacing butter entirely with oil but using ghee (clarified butter) in smaller quantities is an example of the types of solutions we know about. We are happy to share all of our ideas and knowledge - we just want you to be willing to listen and keen to learn and implement new ideas. Although wheelchair bound currently, our father may want to help you with his meal preparation, and we would want you to encourage and welcome that.

Our father will also need some help with his cleaning and washing routine in the mornings, as well as, on occasion help with arranging, managing paperwork from and attending doctors’ appointments.
