Personal Care Assistant for a lady P/T@ £16.88/hr in Whitley bay - FTE - £32.9k - Whitley Bay - NE25

To provide on-going support in the home for a young lady and understanding Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, and a Learning Disability 

Main Duties: To have an understanding and/or experience in supporting people with Spastic Quadriplegia, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, a visual impairment, and a learning disability.

You will be required to provide 1:1 and 2:1 support with personal care, feeding, washing, and dressing. You will be required to have some understanding of moving and handling, transfers using equipment and hoists, although full training will be provided.   

Administering of medication including emergency Epilepsy medication as required and full training will be provided. 

Hours: 12 hours per week including weekends and to have a flexible approach to cover shifts as and when required. 

You will be required to support with 1, 2, or, on occasion, 3 calls per day, mornings, teatime, and evenings.  You will be working as part of a very small team.

Rates of Pay: £16.41 per hour, holiday is 5.6 weeks pro rata.

Person Specification:
·        Preferably have some experience at supporting with disabilities, although not necessary and full training will be provided.
·        Have a genuine interest in supporting adults with complex needs.
·        Be flexible, patient, punctual and reliable.
·        Respect confidentiality and understand your role in relation to this.

Please note; Dogs are part of the household. They are very friendly.

An enhanced DBS check will be carried out for this post and the cost will be met by Northumberland County Council.
