Job title: Personal Assistant/Care-Worker – 5hrs per week in LS10
Hourly Rate - £8.75 per hour
Holiday Entitlement – 5.6 weeks per annum pro rata
Probationary Period – 3 months
Job Purpose
To support a young boy at home and in the community with social interaction, including cinema trips and swimming, and offering an extra pair of hands for his mother at home.
The PA will support the young boy to enable the family to go out together, relieving the pressure on the family. They will also go out together to offer respite to his mother enabling her to spend time with her other children.
Ideally the PA will go out with the young boy on general trips that someone his age would enjoy and keep him entertained and safe. He does not have full awareness of road safety therefore close oversight is needed at all time. The PA may be required to accompany the young boy on public transport to local amenities. The PA will also be responsible for providing personal care.
The PA should be kind, sensitive, have a positive outlook on life and have the ability to confidently manage and deescalate challenging behaviour. The needs of the young boy can change day to day therefore the PA should be flexible and understanding.
The PA will be accountable to the employer at all times and the role will be subject to any other reasonable request that they make.
