ABOUT ME

I am a disabled woman with a number of impairments. 

I am partially sighted and have difficulty reading large-print and mainly rely on audio, and use screen-reading software on my computer. I have a limited field of vision and cannot see the left or lower side. 

I have difficulty walking, and usually walk at a slower pace with poor balance. I generally use a crutch when travelling and the PA will be asked to guide me when walking outside. 

I have a speech impairment, but once people get used to how I speak, usually there is no communication issue.

My left hand is quite weak, and has difficulty in grip or doing delicate tasks.

I am a disabled academic/activist and live with my partner in the Burley area (LS4). I am looking for PA support to assist me with my independent living and facilitating my participation in the local community and beyond, while respecting professional boundaries and confidentiality issues.

MAIN DUTIES

I would like assistance with the following duties. Sometimes the PA will be required to complete these tasks under my instruction, and at other times facilitate me in completing them independently.

SUPERVISION

My personal assistant will be directed by and is accountable to me in all aspects of work. They will ask what is required and not make assumptions about what I need.

OTHER

It would be helpful for the PA to have a good command of English, and fluency in it. 

The person I employ must have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of work including total respect for my privacy and possessions. 

Driver with car preferred, mileage paid at £0.45 per mile
