PERSONAL ASSISTANT FOR 9 YEAR OLD BOY - 6 HOURS A WEEK (FLEXIBLE TO BE ARRANGED BETWEEN US) - Leeds - LS27

LOCATION:LEEDS, LS27, MY OWN HOME & IN THE WIDER COMMUNITY

PURPOSE OF JOB:A Personal Assistant (PA) is required to support our Autistic Nephew, who is 9 years old. He is a very loving little boy who can be over familiar. He doesn’t have any concept of personal space. He is quite talkative but can have the same conversations on repeat. He likes to play games & loves all kinds of technology. He’s interested in Super Heros & Movie Characters. The PA will help him access social situations outside of the family home (eg. trampolining or going to the park) or undertake an activity within our home (eg. making a comic or playing his xbox). This time gives him the opportunity to do something he enjoys that his brothers may not, giving them the chance to partake in other activities he does not want to. It will also help him to gain some independence skills.

MAIN DUTIES:The PA will be required to carry out the following tasks:

Provide our nephew with one-to-one support.
Personal care: still in nappies, although we are trying to toilet train him.
Support him to access activities in the community.
Support him to do tasks of his choice in the home.
He needs careful supervision especially outside the home as he has no concept of danger or road safety.
We will pay for any activities he undertakes & any travel expenses occurred.

SUPERVISION:The PA will be directed by & accountable to me in all aspects of their work. They must always ask what I require & not make assumptions about any aspect of assistance required or how it is to be carried out. Should not carry out tasks unless we have discussed it first.
