I am looking for a PA to provide companionship and support with domestic tasks to help me maintain a safe home environment. You will also be required to provide support to help me get out and about and carry out activities that I enjoy such as gardening and accessing the local community.
Duties to include:
· Household tasks including changing bed linen, doing laundry and washing up.
· Managing the home environment and making sure the home is free from trip hazards and is accessible due to my limited mobility.
· Basic meal preparation and making hot drinks.
· Although I am currently able to meet my own personal care needs, you may be required to assist with some aspects of personal care if requested including support with showering, dressing and undressing.
· Support to carry out gardening and accessing the local community.
· Accompanying on trips out and to appointments.
· Providing companionship at home.
· Any other reasonable duties as requested.
Person specification
Listed below are the skills, competencies and qualities that are essential and desirable for the post. My assessment of these, both on application and at interview, will be the main factor in determining if you are successful. Please refer to these when submitting your application.
· Male carer preferred due to personal care duties.
Previous experience in a social care role highly desirable.
· Driving license holder with own vehicle and appropriate business insurance highly desirable.
· Comfortable working in a home with a pet dog.
· An interest in gardening would be an added bonus.
Summary terms and conditions
· The rate of pay for this position is £10.50 per hour.
· You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role
· Hours and times of work: 6 hours per week, divided across 2-3 days.
The post is subject to the following
· A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
· Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months.
