Passionate and Enthusiastic PA Required 4hrs p/w to support young boy in LS27 @ £9.43 p/h - LEEDS - LS27

Job Reference (8a25ee00)

Job Title: Personal Assistant

Hours Per Week: 4

Hourly rate: £9.43 per hour

Location: At home in Morley and in the local community

Purpose of Job:

J requires support to access local community for social and leisure tasks, as well as, to develop his independence. J loves visiting the local park and playing on the climbing frame and would love a Personal Assistant to support in doing this. The family are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic PA to support J out-and-about, whilst providing the family with some respite.

J is a 7 year old boy who uses a disability pram/wheelchair, who would benefit from having a PA who has shared interests, particularly in animals and sensory play. J communicates non-verbally so a PA with experience in non-verbal communication would be ideal. J has a range of non-verbal ways to communicate his emotions and the PA would work closely with the family to understand these.

J loves to explore and can sometimes wander off alone; his PA would need to have good observation skills to ensure he is safe at all times when in the community.  Busy places can make J uncomfortable therefore the PA will build a close relationship to understand his feelings and de-escalate tensions, if required.

The PA may occasionally support with eating at home or when out in the community. They will be provided with First Aid training and advice from mum to ensure this is done safely.

Ideally the PA will have previous experience working with children with additional needs, particularly within a school setting. However, any relevant experience will be considered if the skills can be applied to this role.

This is a great opportunity to share meaningful experiences with J, enhance your CV, and develop your skills for your future career.

Additional hours may be available in the future.

The family are looking for a PA for 4 hours per week in 1 shift. This shift will be on either a Saturday or Sunday, which will be flexibly arranged with the PA.
