Job Purpose
To provide support at home and out and about for young man with learning/social interaction issues.

Details
Personal Assistant/Support Worker required for a 22 year old man with a form of autism which leads him to having issues with memory and social behaviour. The PA is required to act as a ‘Professional Friend’ to ensure safety and support while enjoying normal activities both at home and when going out, engaging with activities in the community. Encouragement to maintain a tidy home, to manage temptation to over-eat, and behave in a reasonable manner in public, maintaining social boundaries. Help to develop relationships and communication skills potentially with a view to seeking employment. The support will mainly be required in evenings and potentially at weekends, and times of work can be flexible depending on what activities planned and when family require respite.

· Reliable and Flexible
· Mature and responsible but young hearted
· Good communication skills
· Own car with appropriate class of business insurance
Summary terms and conditions
· The rate of pay for this position is £15.00 per hour for employed PA or up to £19 per hour if Self Employed
· Hours and times of work: up to 22 hours weekly, mainly evenings and weekends, flexible/negotiable times.
· You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
· Free Care Skills Training provided to employed staff
The post is subject to the following:
· A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
· Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
· Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months.
