Job Purpose

To support my son in the home and community to develop his social skills and promote his independence in the community.

He can be affectionate and co-operative at times but can also be extremely challenging. He has no friends at home and is dependent on his family to meet his social needs.

He can be aggressive and use offensive language but a support worker would hopefully be able to support him with expressing his needs without the need to display this type of behaviour.

Ultimately he would develop social skills and therefore take responsibility for his behaviour.

He would like the opportunity to follow his own interests and have the opportunity to develop some life skills. The support worker would act as a positive role model and develop his social skills.

He would like to go to the cinema and he enjoys chess, computer games and Lego. He also enjoys ten pin bowling, swimming, books and comics and using his bike.
At the moment he feels isolated.
