Job Reference (d426958f)
Can you spare 8 hours a week on a Monday and Thursday 12:00 to 16:00 to support a twenty-five year old male with autism and mental health difficulties to access activities within his community?
Meet James
I am a twenty-five year old male with autism and with current mental health difficulties diagnosed as psychosis. I live with my step-sister and her husband.
I am a vulnerable adult who needs prompting with most aspects of everyday living. I need accompanying during everyday activities due to being easily distracted, and am unable to follow instructions without a high level of one-to-one support. I have difficulty processing information and sequencing tasks, and need frequent prompts. I have difficulty understanding boundaries in social situations. I can appear reserved, with difficulties initiating, holding and appropriately ending interactions.
To help me remain as independent as possible, I need help with my time management, organisation and administration of my outside activities, and where appropriate being accompanied in access to the community.
Domestic Tasks:
· Helping me to tidy, clean and organise my room.
· Prepare and cook meals where appropriate (for example preparing a lunch when I’m going out).
· Going shopping when appropriate.
General Tasks:
· Learning new transport routes to activities and accompanying me the first time I attend classes.
· Assist me to access the local library
· Accompany me to the local park and other recreation facilities such as walks.
Administrative Tasks:
· Helping me complete a weekly time table of activities.
· Supporting me in applying for, organising and administrating access to new group activities and courses.
· Filing and organising paperwork
Rate of pay
£9.43 per hour
