Female Personal Care Assistants needed in DH1 (20 hpw 9.50 ph) lady has mobility problems - DURHAM - DH1

2 Female Personal Care Assistants are required as soon as possible to support a fun-loving 50 year old single lady with mobility problems.
 
20 hours per week over 7 days, £9.50 per hour
Hours will be agreed, probably between school hours, approx. 10.30 am start.

This lady is looking for 2 compassionate individuals to assist her with everyday living activities from personal care to companionship and emotional support. 
She has a progressive and debilitating muscular skeletal condition, which gives her constant intense pain and mobility problems. She is looking for the right person to assist her with everyday tasks she can no longer manage herself.

The right personal fit is critical, the PA must have a flexible approach.

A valid driving licence and a positive attitude to life are needed. 
The PA must be happy to work in a home with a small dog.

Due to the nature of this lady’s illness the PA must be reliable.  A basic pattern of work will be agreed, it will be flexible depending upon this ladys health status and needs and the PAs availability.
 
Duties will include such tasks as:

Personal Care - to include bathing, washing and assisting with toileting.

Assisting with the application of splints and other mobility aids.

Dealing with medication - including ordering, collecting and organising of various medications.

Assisting with dressing and undressing, on occasion during the evening as required.

Supporting with food preparation and the production of light meals as needed.

Assisting with physical therapy exercises and supporting mobility and exercise both inside and outside the home.
Providing general support for day to day living to ensure a safe environment is maintained.

Providing emotional support and companionship, with the ability to help during times of need.

 

Requirements:
 
A compassionate and caring nature and a genuine interest in the caring profession.  
Excellent communication and people skills with a very positive attitude.

Well- organised. 
Physical stamina.
The ability to respond to call-outs ‘out of hours’ on occasions would be preferable. 

A good work ethic.

A DBS may be required but the cost would be paid for by the employer
