A woman in the Ashington area is looking for a committed care worker to provide enabling support and support within the home. The care worker is required to promote independence, teach life skills and support the client to take the lead in day-to-day activities.
The main tasks will involve taking the client shopping an a Wednesday morning. The suitable applicant needs to be physically able and willing to support with shopping, carry items and push trolley etc
The woman lives on her own and requires support with the following:
- Organising the flat as has recently moved in
- Housework support
- Shopping, meal planning and preparation
- Laundry support
- Correspondence and admin support e.g. bill paying
The preferred worker will have experience of supporting clients with learning disabilities and anxiety. They should be willing to guide the client to take the lead on day to day tasks, offering guidance and instruction to support.
The client also has epilepsy and full training will be provided around any medication to be administered.
A driver, with their own car and business insurance is essential.

Rates of Pay: £10.82 per hour
Hours of work:
hours per week as follows:
- Wednesday morning – 3 hours
Flexibility on times during the days will be discussed at interview.
You will receive 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata per year as part of your employment

Further Information: An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS) will have to be obtained for the successful candidate (at employer’s expense).
Training: Where it is required, such as in Health and Safety matters, practical training and guidance will be arranged, and the care worker will be expected to attend. This will include moving and handling, medication awareness and additional training specific to the client.
