We are looking for Personal Assistants (PA’s) to work with a young man who lives independently at home. You will give verbal prompts and minimal assistance for personal care, full support with medication administration, support with all aspects of cooking a vegetarian diet. Assisting with the shopping and household duties.
The role will be varied, sometimes the day will be about good conversation, friendship, and spending time at home. Other days will be about getting out and about locally, to enjoy social activities or appointments. Being able to drive is an advantage with a clean licence to be insured on his car
He loves all things arts and crafts, plus going to pottery classes.
He has a need to know what is expected of him and what will be happening next.
The right person:
Experience in autism and OCD would be an advantage.
It is not essential that you have experience in care but you must have common sense, be flexible, enthusiastic and willing to learn! You will receive full training in all aspects of caring. The main thing is that you have a naturally friendly and caring nature.
Work patterns are well planned with full and part-time hours are available.
Shifts start at 7.30am to 9.30pm - The day can be split into two shifts for 7.30am to 2.30pm & 2.15pm to 9.30pm
Sleepovers from 9.30pm to 7.30am and a separate room is provided.
You will work as part of a team and willing to pick up additional hours and be flexible to cover holidays and times of sickness.
